Deux Cranes Collection (Milk Chocolate Ginger, Matcha Sesame, Dark Miso Almond)

8 Reviews

These chocolate bars with East Asian flavors are handcrafted in California as a "modern interpretation of traditional Japanese philosophy." With their repeating geometric designs and intriguing flavors, the bars are as gorgeous as they are delicious.

The following descriptions are from Deux Cranes:

Milk Chocolate With Ginger, Sesame and Buckwheat: Single-origin chocolate from Madagascar, full of scrumptious vanilla notes, is balanced with zesty ginger, savory sesame, and nutty buckwheat in this flavorful bar. Buckwheat, or soba, is a gluten-free grain despite the name and provides a savory, nutty and earthy profile in this flavorful bar.

Matcha Chocolate With Caramelized Sesame: Finely ground Japanese green tea mixed with creamy, milky white chocolate. White sesame seeds are caramelized and toasted for extra crunch and bite. Like a matcha latte, but better.

Dark Chocolate With Miso Almonds: This bar is roasted and toasted velvety goodness. The almonds are roasted with miso emphasizing the roasted flavor of the 70% dark chocolate. A strong dark chocolate flavor for when you need something with some substance!

French-trained Chocolatier Michiko Marron-Kibbey sources her chocolate from Valrhona, in Tain L’Hermitage, France. She marries these couvetures with quintessentially Japanese ingredients and design inspired by her years in Japan.
