Gold Stainless Steel Hotpot

This beautiful and unique gold hotpot makes any hotpot meal a special occasion.

Made of one piece of sturdy stainless steel, it has a burnished, bright-gold interior, a hammered, dimpled body, scalloped edges, and handles with an ancient Asian motif. It also has the perfect hotpot shape—narrower at the bottom where it makes contact with the heat and wider at the top for easy access and dipping. Up to 5 people can use the pot with ease. 

Like our other hotpots, this one is custom made for us in Sichuan by a company that makes hotpots for restaurants. 

The gold finish of the pot comes from a process called PVD that applies a super hard and long-wearing metallic coating to the steel that changes the color of the outer layer. The gold coloring is actually welded to the steel at a molecular level, giving it the benefits of being durable, rust-resistant, scratch-proof and, of course, food grade. PVD products such as gold cutlery are generally priced higher than gold-plated products due to that durability as well as its more even, attractive finish. 

Like uncoated, regular stainless steel, the gold stainless steel does not discolor after making hotpot and is easy to keep clean. 

The single bowl—as opposed to a two-compartment design—allows for one large serving of broth, be that spicy mala, mushroom, chicken or tomato. Use this pot when you prefer one hotpot flavor or when you are serving several flavors from multiple pots. 

This pot is also a lovely vessel for large servings of soups, stews, braises or anything you want to keep warm over a flame at the table. Use with either a butane-gas or induction portable burner. 

The soup bowl has an inner diameter of 13 inches and holds roughly 12 cups (3 liters) of soup broth. Considered a medium pot, it serves 4 people comfortably and is recommended for up to 5 people. 

This hotpot is the "maximalist" design in our hotpot range, which also includes a minimalist brass hotpot and a stainless steel two-compartment pot.

Dimensions: 18 x 14 x 4 inches; flat bottom measures 6.5 inches in diameter; weight 3.5 pounds. Its capacity is 3 liters, and it serves as many as 4 to 5 people.
